Mor Carmeli
Israel's Youth Delegate 2023–2025
Ms. Mor Carmeli is currently serving as Israel's Youth Delegate to the United Nations from 2023 to 2025, representing young Israelis with distinction. Raised in the small town of Beit Yehoshua in central Israel, she is starting her third year in the Integrative Program in Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Zionism is an integral part of her family's identity; her great-grandparents established Beit Yehoshua during Operation "Homa uMigdal," her grandfather was a Holocaust survivor and later a farmer in Israel, and her mother teaches Hebrew literature while her father served as a pilot in the Israeli Air Force. Her parents emphasized the importance of being the best citizens they could be.
After graduating in 2015, Mor committed herself to fulfilling her parents’ wishes by enrolling in a pre-military program called "Tavor" in Nof Hagalil. Following this, she served as a flight simulator instructor for F-16 fighters. After two years in this role, she completed officer training for flight instructors.
During her service, a friend proposed an innovative idea to move to Kibbutz Kerem Shalom, located at the southern tip of the Gaza Strip. Recognizing the demographic challenges faced by the kibbutz, Mor and her fellow soldiers seized the opportunity to make a positive impact by aiding in repairs, redecorations, and building a strong communal structure. They even created and paved a hiking trail connecting the kibbutz to neighboring communities.
As a representative of Israel's youth, Mor aspires to promote Israel’s image as a nation that fosters creativity, entrepreneurship, and optimism. In today's rapidly changing environment, where social media and news spread quickly, she believes there are abundant opportunities to create a positive impact. Recognizing Israel's leadership in collaboration and creative idea-sharing, she is eager to champion UN Agenda 2030, specifically Sustainable Development Goal 5—gender equality. As a woman, Mor acknowledges the ongoing journey toward achieving full gender equality. She views Israeli youth as pioneers in various fields, serving as inspirations for entrepreneurship and innovative problem-solving. Mor believes that Israel possesses the capabilities to help make the world a better place to live.
"-- The best is yet to come as we eagerly await Mor representing Israel and our nation's youth at the United Nations and in the global arena in general. Join us in supporting her! --"

About the Youth Delegate Program
Have you ever dreamed to work in the UN? Are you passionate about the youth of Israel? Has the idea of representing Israel and its youth been a dream for you but seemed so out-of-reach? If you answered yes, then you are in the right place! The Youth Delegate Program, administered by IMUNA and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Israeli Youth Authority and Mifal Ha'Pais, is a program where one Israeli youth is chosen each year in order to represent the country in the United Nation's headquarters in New York and here in Israel. The program includes young people from all around the globe, who are passionate and eager regarding international relations. The delegates discuss, have meetings, and represent their nation and its youth with the aim of advocating for social justice.
Israel's youth hold a critical leadership and diplomatic role amidst the ongoing challenges facing Israel and the world today. IMUNA aims to help, develop, and empower students and young professionals to step up, and is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders across various sectors. Empowering young individuals and providing them with opportunities to engage on the global stage, participate in the United Nations as well as other international forums, IMUNA strives to continue its mission with you help.
Thank you for your contribution and for being a part of our mission to cultivate a generation of empowered global citizens.
