Jennifer Borik
Israel's Youth Delegate 2024–2026

Ms. Jennifer Borik is currently serving as Israel's Youth Delegate to the United Nations from 2024 to 2026, representing young Israelis with distinction. Raised in Beer-Sheva in southern Israel, she is a third-year law student (LL.B) at Sapir Academic College in Sderot. Jennifer's parents immigrated to Israel from the former Soviet Union, driven by their love for Israel and deep-rooted Zionist values. Her father worked as a farmer in Ma'alot-Tarshiha before enlisting in the IDF, where he served in a combat unit. Her mother immigrated through a program for outstanding Jewish students and later made Aliyah. Both of her parents had relatives who were persecuted during the Holocaust, and her great-grandfather fought against the Nazis in World War II, earning numerous operational awards. This family history instilled in Jennifer a profound love for the State of Israel and a commitment to community involvement.

Growing up in Beer-Sheva, Jennifer experienced the realities of conflict firsthand and aspired to serve in the IDF to contribute to her country. She enlisted in the Operations Division, commanding soldiers and establishing a new command and control center dedicated to protecting Israeli settlements. Recognized as Israel's 71st Independence Day outstanding soldier, she received an operational appreciation certificate and commendation. Her sister, a combat soldier and platoon commander, also served proudly in the IDF.

Following her military service, Jennifer developed a passion for advocacy. She participated in a Jewish Agency delegation to the United States, strengthening ties with Jewish communities abroad. Motivated by the college's vision to promote entrepreneurship and development in the Negev, she chose to pursue law at Sapir Academic College.

Living in southern Israel and completing 150 days of reserve duty over the past year have taught Jennifer invaluable lessons about her generation's ingenuity, creativity, friendship, unity, and resilience. In the face of significant challenges, her generation has demonstrated remarkable strength, from assisting the elderly and needy during COVID-19 to supporting soldiers and evacuees amid ongoing conflict.

As a representative of Israel's youth, Jennifer aspires to promote equality for people with disabilities in line with UN Agenda 2030, Sustainable Development Goal 10. The war has significantly increased the number of physically and mentally disabled individuals, many of whom are young people. She believes that Israel's spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation can help integrate these individuals into society, both in Israel and globally.

"-- The best is yet to come as we eagerly await Jennifer representing Israel and our nation's youth at the United Nations and in the global arena in general. Join us in supporting her! --"

Have you ever dreamed to work in the UN? Are you passionate about the youth of Israel? Has the idea of representing Israel and its youth been a dream for you but seemed so out-of-reach? If you answered yes, then you are in the right place! The Youth Delegate Program, administered by IMUNA  and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Israeli Youth Authority and Mifal Ha'Pais, is a program where one Israeli youth is chosen each year in order to represent the country in the United Nation's headquarters in New York and here in Israel. The program includes young people from all around the globe, who are passionate and eager regarding international relations. The delegates discuss, have meetings, and represent their nation and its youth with the aim of advocating for social justice.
